Born and raised in Colorado, Chris has always had a passion for organizing and planning events. While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Communications at Colorado State University, she officially began her journey in the events world with an internship at the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International.

After college,  Chris landed an event professionals’ dream job at one of Denver’s most recognized, award-winning Destination Management Companies. There she learned everything there is to know about corporate events, joined multiple industry-related organizations including the National Association for Catering and Events, and even had a hand in the planning some of the events surrounding the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

In 2008, the corporate events slowed down greatly due to the state of the economy and Chris saw this as an opportunity to live out one of her others dreams; to travel the world and learn about other cultures. Chris earned her TEFL Certificate, sold most of her things and took a one-way flight to Santiago, Chile. There she taught English to adult professionals, learned about the Chilean culture and took excursions within the country, such as a 10-day trek through Patagonia. After a year of travel, Chris returned to Colorado and began working at Mile High Stadium for one of Denver’s premier caterers.

In the next few years, Chris held positions at local non-profits, engineering firms and even returned back to the catering company she previously worked at. In 2017, Chris and her husband welcomed their beautiful daughter and Chris became a stay at home super mom! It was during that time that she was able to dream about her next steps and goals in life. One of her lifelong goals was to become her own boss... and viola! With a like-minded, super motivated business partner (who also happened to be a fellow super mom) by her side, the time had come and The Collective Events was born.
